How to Use Crosstalk Calculator

Enter the victim signal voltage and the measured or estimated interference voltage. The calculator returns the interference as a percentage of the victim signal and also shows the raw ratio. Use the same voltage unit for both inputs, such as volts or millivolts, because the ratio is unitless.

Formula & Theory - Crosstalk Calculator

This tool uses a simple amplitude-ratio model for crosstalk. It divides the coupled interference voltage by the victim signal voltage, then multiplies by 100 to express the result as a percentage. It does not compute dB NEXT/FEXT values or frequency-dependent coupling models.

ratio = interferenceVoltage / victimVoltage
crosstalkPercent = ratio * 100

Use Cases for Crosstalk Calculator

Use it for quick signal-integrity checks, audio or instrumentation noise estimates, cable comparison notes, classroom demonstrations, and early-stage electronics troubleshooting where a percentage ratio is easier to discuss than a full coupling model.

Frequently asked questions about Crosstalk Calculator

How do I use Crosstalk Calculator?

Enter victim voltage and interference voltage in the same unit. The calculator returns crosstalk percentage and ratio.

What formula or rule does Crosstalk Calculator use?

It computes interferenceVoltage / victimVoltage, then multiplies by 100 to show a percentage.
