How to Use the Gut Microbiome Score Calculator
Enter diversity index, beneficial bacteria percentage, harmful bacteria percentage, and short-chain fatty acid level. Diversity is normalized on a 0–5 scale; the other metrics use 0–100.
The calculator reports the composite score, normalized diversity, beneficial-minus-harmful gap, and SCFA level. The notes field is for lab context and is not used in the score.
Formula and Method - Gut Microbiome Score Calculator
Gut Microbiome Score = 0.35×normalized diversity + 0.30×beneficial % - 0.20×harmful % + 0.15×SCFA level
The model treats diversity as a stability signal, beneficial bacteria as a positive signal, harmful bacteria as a negative signal, and SCFA as a fermentation-metabolite signal. The weights are transparent estimates, not diagnostic criteria.
Use Cases for the Gut Microbiome Score Calculator
- Summarizing key microbiome report metrics into a trackable score.
- Comparing diet, prebiotic, probiotic, or antibiotic time points.
- Showing how diversity, beneficial taxa, harmful taxa, and SCFA push the score.
