How to Use Pinyin Calculator
Pinyin Calculator converts Chinese characters into pinyin as you type. Enter a word, phrase, sentence, or short paragraph, then choose tone marks or tone numbers. The output is separated by spaces so it can be copied into notes, slides, subtitles, or study sheets.
Choose tone marks when the result is meant for reading aloud. Choose tone numbers when you need plain ASCII-friendly text, want to sort by tone, or need a format that is easy to type in systems that do not support diacritics well.
Formula & Theory - Pinyin Calculator
Pinyin output = pinyin(input text, selected tone format) with syllables separated by spaces
The calculator uses browser-side pinyin conversion. Each Han character is converted to a syllable, and common phrase context helps with some polyphonic words. Tone marks place the tone on the main vowel; numbered mode appends 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 after the syllable.
Pinyin is a pronunciation aid, not a full semantic reading system. Proper names, dialectal readings, and rare literary pronunciations may still require a dictionary check.
