How to Use Time Card Calculator
The Time Card Calculator lets hourly workers, freelancers and managers tally a week’s hours and pay without spreadsheets.
- Pick a currency — Use the currency selector to match payroll.
- Enter daily times — Start, end and break minutes for Mon–Sun.
- Hourly rate and overtime rule — Set the rate, the weekly overtime threshold and the multiplier.
- Read the result — The Time Card Calculator returns total hours, regular hours, overtime hours and gross pay.
Formula & Theory - Time Card Calculator
The Time Card Calculator is built on a simple time accounting model:
Daily worked = (End − Start) − Break
(if End < Start, add 24 h for overnight shifts)
Weekly total = Sum of daily worked
Regular hours = min(Weekly total, OT threshold)
Overtime hours = max(0, Weekly total − OT threshold)
Gross pay = Regular × Rate + Overtime × Rate × Multiplier
| Symbol | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Start / End | Clock-in and clock-out time |
| Break | Unpaid break length in minutes |
| OT threshold | Hours per week before overtime |
| Multiplier | Overtime pay rate multiplier |
Notes
- The Time Card Calculator does not deduct taxes or insurance; it returns gross pay only.
- For multi-week or multi-rate jobs, run the Time Card Calculator once per week and add the results.
