How to Use Starforce Calculator
The Starforce Calculator helps MapleStory players plan enhancement costs before spending real mesos. Enter the three key values and toggle any active events or safeguard options to see a full breakdown instantly.
- Equipment Level - Enter the level of the item you want to enhance. Higher-level equipment costs significantly more per attempt.
- Current Star / Target Star - Enter your starting star count and the star level you are aiming for. The Starforce Calculator covers 0★ through 25★.
- Options - Enable the 30% discount event if it is currently active on your server, or toggle Safeguard at 15–16★ to remove the destruction risk at those stages for an added cost.
The result panel shows expected total cost, total attempts, expected booms, and a per-star breakdown table so you can plan which star thresholds to attempt first.

Cost per Attempt = round( (EquipLevel^3 × (CurrentStar + 1)) / 2500 + 10 )
Discount Cost = Cost per Attempt × 0.70
Expected Attempts (star s) ≈ (1 + DowngradeRate × 0.5) / SuccessRate(s)
Expected Booms (star s) = DestroyRate(s) × Expected Attempts(s)

Assumptions and Limits
The Starforce Calculator uses community-standard probability values from KMS/GMS. Results are mathematical expectations, not guarantees. Always set aside extra mesos as a buffer — actual cost distribution has a long tail. Safeguard removes destruction risk at 15★ and 16★ but the mesos cost for each safeguarded attempt is higher than the table value shown here.
